Years ago, a friend from Germany introduced my family to this pie and we have been making it ever since. The flavors of juicy, tart apples and raisins sandwiched between crust and crumble make a hugely addictive dessert.


There are many ways to serve it. My husband likes his warmed up with vanilla ice cream on top, and my sister eats hers cold from the refrigerator. I eat mine at room temperature because I just want pie in my mouth without having to do any extra work to get it there!
